B&B – If you’re looking for a relaxed and friendly retreat with a touch of luxury in an historic setting – somewhere where you can take a deep breath and unwind following a day out exploring the Somerset and the Mendip Hills – then the AA 4 star Silver Award historic grade II listed Longbridge House, is the B&B for you.
With parts dating back to the 14th century the house is best known for being where the Duke of Monmouth stayed before and after the Battle of Sedgemoor in 1685, before he was killed by Hanging Judge Jeffries in the Bloody Assizes. In more recent years the house has been owned by the Bishop of London who performed the wedding ceremony of William and Kate.
Chill out after your journey in one of our 3 beautifully appointed rooms or our sunny courtyard, with cookies and a pot of tea or cafetiere of coffee. Or relax outside & plan your stay using our books and maps. Rates vary from £70 to £110 per night per room (depending on season and occupancy).
Cottage – Alternatively, if you fancy being able to tuck yourself away completely, then perhaps our cute stone holiday cottage is more your style. This little retreat which set in a listed cobbled courtyard next to a pond sleeps 2 and has a luxurious king size bed set in a magnificent vaulted and galleried bedroom for you to lose yourself in. The cottage comes with use of your own private sundeck. Rates vary from £45 to £75 per night (not per person) depending on the length of your stay and season.
